Some trains will be cancelled, while others will be diverted to different tracks during the Sunday mega block.
On Central Railway, the block will be imposed between Matunga and Mulund on both the Up and Down slow lines from 10:05 am to 3:55 pm.
During this period, slow trains leaving CSMT will be diverted onto the fast line between Matunga and Mulund. These trains will stop at Sion, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup and Mulund.
Up slow trains arriving from Thane will also be shifted to the fast line at Mulund.
The Harbour line will face another major disruption between CSMT and Chunabhatti/Bandra on both directions. The block will remain in place from 11:10 am to 4:40 pm.
Several services connecting CSMT/Wadala with Vashi, Belapur and Panvel, as well as Bandra/Goregaon and CSMT, will remain cancelled during the block. Up services between Panvel, Belapur, Vashi and CSMT will also be affected.
To reduce the inconvenience, Panvel-Kurla special local trains will be operated during the block.
Western Railway will carry out a block between Goregaon and Bandra on the Harbour route from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm.
As a result, local services operating between CSMT and Bandra, as well as the CSMT/Panvel-Goregaon sections, will remain cancelled during the block. Some slow services between Churchgate and Goregaon will also be cancelled.
Apart from Sunday’s mega block, Central Railway will undertake additional work between Matunga and Kurla. All four lines will be affected as part of work related to the installation of girders for the Sion railway overbridge.
A special traffic and power block will be taken during the nights between Friday-Saturday and Saturday-Sunday as part of the work on the fifth and sixth lines between CSMT and Kurla.
Due to the first block, the Badlapur-Parel local scheduled to leave at 10:40 pm on Saturday, the Khopoli-CSMT local at 10:15 pm and the Badlapur-CSMT local at 11:29 pm will terminate at Kurla.
The Kasara local scheduled to leave at 4:19 am on Sunday will instead originate from Thane rather than CSMT.
A second block will be carried out from 12:40 am to 4:40 am during the intervening night of August 8 and 9. Four services will be cancelled during this period.
These include the CSMT-Karjat local scheduled at 12:12 am, CSMT-Thane at 12:24 am, Karjat-CSMT at 2:30 am and Thane-CSMT at 4:04 am.
With multiple maintenance blocks planned across the suburban network, commuters are advised to check the train schedule and allow extra travel time on Sunday.
