In a move to make metro travel easier, Paytm has partnered with Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited and Open Network for Digital Commerce to introduce mobile QR ticketing in Pune and Nagpur.

With this new system, passengers can now book metro tickets directly on the Paytm app. After booking, they will receive a QR code which can be scanned at metro stations for entry.

This means there is no need to stand in line for physical tokens. The process is faster and helps reduce crowding at stations. Officials said the feature will benefit over 3 lakh commuters who travel daily in both cities.

A Paytm spokesperson said the goal is to make daily travel simple and smooth. With QR ticketing, users can get their tickets instantly on their phone and move quickly through entry points.

The new system is expected to improve convenience and save time for regular metro passengers.
