The case relates to the alleged assault and murder of a young child in Bhor taluka’s Nasrapur village. The incident has left the local community in deep shock and renewed concerns over child safety and stronger punishment for such crimes.
Speaking to the media, the accused’s wife expressed grief and anger over the incident. She said she has had no contact with her husband for nearly a decade and made it clear that she does not wish to be associated with him. She said he should face the strongest legal punishment for the crime he is accused of.
The accused’s son also spoke out, saying he feels ashamed and deeply disturbed by the allegations against his father. He said the family is going through severe mental trauma and called for justice for the child and her family.
He also said people’s faith in the justice system must remain strong and that such serious crimes should be dealt with firmly under the law.
According to police, the incident took place on May 1 in Nasrapur. After the child went missing, family members and villagers began searching for her. Her body was later found, leading to massive outrage in the village. Police were informed immediately, and an investigation was launched.
The case has become even more serious after villagers alleged that the accused had a troubling past and had faced criminal allegations earlier as well. Some locals claimed he had previously been booked in another serious case and had been socially boycotted by villagers in the past because of his alleged behaviour.
Police are continuing their investigation, while demands for justice for the victim and swift legal action have grown louder across the state.
