A major accident was narrowly avoided after a Shivshahi bus caught fire near Thane Railway Station on Tuesday.

The incident took place on the SATIS bridge in the station area, where the bus was completely destroyed in the blaze. Fire brigade teams rushed to the spot and worked quickly to control the fire.

According to initial information, the bus was travelling from Thane to Boisar in Palghar district. A short circuit is suspected to be the cause of the fire.

At the time of the incident, around 15 to 20 passengers were on board. All of them were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported. This helped prevent a major tragedy.

However, the fire spread rapidly, and the bus was entirely gutted within a short time. The incident caused panic among people present in the area, and there was chaos for some time.

Officials said further details will be confirmed after a proper investigation into the fire incident.
