The incident took place at Prachi Fashion Store, located inside Paradise Tower Society on Gokhale Road in Thane. The shop is near a McDonald’s outlet and close to the Gavdevi Temple.
According to the Disaster Management Cell of the Thane Municipal Corporation, the fire was reported around 5:40 am. Soon after, fire brigade teams reached the spot with two fire engines and a rescue vehicle.
Personnel from the disaster management team, local police and Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited were also present to assist in the operation.
Firefighting work is currently ongoing, and officials are trying to bring the situation under control. So far, no injuries have been reported.
The exact cause of the fire and the extent of damage are still being assessed.
In a separate incident, a fire broke out on Sunday night in a residential flat at the Lodha Splendora complex in Thane West. The blaze started on the 16th floor, and emergency teams rushed to the site.
Fire engines and rescue teams were deployed quickly, and the situation was handled without any casualties.
Meanwhile, in Mumbai, two separate fire incidents affected around 15 shops in areas near Mumbai Central and Crawford Market over the weekend. Officials confirmed that no injuries were reported in those cases as well.
Authorities are continuing to monitor all incidents closely and have urged people to follow safety measures.
