The block will take place on the suburban network between late morning and afternoon. Railway officials said the work is important for infrastructure maintenance and passenger safety.
According to Central Railway, services on the CSMT-Vidyavihar UP and DOWN slow lines will be affected from 10.55 am to 3.55 pm. On the Harbour line, the Kurla-Vashi UP and DOWN routes will remain affected from 11.10 am to 4.10 pm.
During this period, many suburban trains will be diverted, while some services on the Harbour line will remain suspended.
On the Main Line, DOWN slow trains leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) between 10.48 am and 3.45 pm will run on the fast corridor between CSMT and Vidyavihar. These trains will stop at Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion and Kurla stations before moving back to the slow line at Vidyavihar.
Similarly, UP slow trains leaving Ghatkopar between 10.19 am and 3.52 pm will also operate through the fast line between Vidyavihar and CSMT. These trains will halt at Kurla, Sion, Matunga, Dadar, Parel and Byculla stations.
Railway authorities also said trains will not stop at Masjid, Sandhurst Road, Chinchpokli and Currey Road stations on both UP and DOWN slow lines during the block period.
On the Harbour line, services towards Vashi, Belapur and Panvel leaving CSMT between 10.34 am and 3.36 pm will stay suspended. UP Harbour services towards CSMT from Panvel, Belapur and Vashi between 10.17 am and 3.47 pm will also remain cancelled.
To reduce inconvenience for passengers, Central Railway will run special train services between CSMT and Kurla, and also between Vashi and Panvel during the block hours.
Passengers travelling on the Harbour route will also be allowed to use the Thane-Vashi/Nerul line between 10 am and 6 pm.
Railway officials have advised commuters to check train timings before travelling and plan their journeys in advance due to the service disruption on Sunday.
