Major Fire in Govandi After CNG Cylinder Explosion, Vehicles Destroyed

A major fire broke out in Mumbai’s Govandi area after a CNG cylinder exploded inside a parked car on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident happened in the Shivaji Nagar area near the Mankhurd-Ghatkopar link road. According to initial reports, the CNG cylinder explosion took place in one of the parked vehicles, triggering a fire.

The flames quickly spread to nearby cars parked in the area. Within a short time, around 8 to 10 vehicles were caught in the fire and were completely gutted.

Local residents tried to control the fire, but it spread rapidly. They then informed the fire brigade, which rushed to the spot with multiple fire engines.

By the time the fire was brought under control, several vehicles had already been destroyed. Officials confirmed that no one was injured in the fire incident, but there was heavy damage to property.

Authorities are expected to investigate the exact cause of the blast and assess the extent of losses.
