The accident took place around 3 pm when the car was travelling through the Parsik Hill area. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to go off the edge of the hill and crash onto the Belapur-Nerul-Uran railway tracks.
The car fell from a height of around 200 feet and was severely damaged due to the impact. However, the driver survived after the airbags opened during the crash.
Local residents and police personnel reached the spot soon after the accident. The injured driver was rescued from the damaged vehicle and taken to MGM Hospital for treatment.
The accident could have had more serious consequences as the car landed directly on the railway tracks. Fortunately, no local train was passing through the section at the time.
Police and railway personnel reached the location and removed the damaged car from the tracks. Railway operations were subsequently restored.
The incident also raised concerns because the accident occurred on a railway route. Had a train been passing through the section at the time, the consequences could have been far more serious.
